Deep Tissue Massage
The Deep Tissue Massage is specifically meant for people with a sporting lifestyle and helps relieve the tensions built up in muscles that could (if left unattended) lead to injuries while playing or exercising. This is a great therapy for relieving stress built up in joints, ligaments, tendons as well as muscles.
This is a type of massage that is done using oil, where the therapist uses a lot more pressure and it is one that calls for more active involvement of the guest. The therapist will use kneading, circular movements, tapping, and vibrations while attending to muscles or tendons that face build-up of tension or stress/pain. Your therapist will make use of his/her fingers, palm, as well as his/her elbow.
Before/After Massage Tip
As with every massage, you can expect to feel stiff and even tender, though this will subside after a couple of days leaving you more relaxed than ever.
If you desire to reduce the tenderness, warm-up your muscles with a bath, a heat pack or steam. Once your muscles are warm, we also recommend dynamic stretching to release some of the tenderness and to further lengthen your muscles.
It is also essential to stay hydrated before and after the treatment to ensure that you get the best results.
Avoid eating right before a massage.
